2020 is almost here!

Hi Everyone,
Can you believe there are only 6 weeks left of 2019? Are you ready for 2020? I am not sure about you, but 2019 was a very interesting year for me. If I had to define it in one word, I would say alignment. I choose this word because I feel that this year has been one of meditating, contemplating, shedding and figuring out where my commitments are. I struggled with figuring out teaching schedules, continue building my business and adding me to my own schedule as I can´t be go, go, go, all the time. How about you? What is the word that defines 2019 for you?
November brings us some astrological opportunities that we can use in our favor. Mercury has been retrograde in the sign of Scorpio most of the month but it is turning direct tomorrow! Turning direct does not mean everything is fine but it means we have a couple of weeks to put our new plans into action and move forward. The shadow period of this retrograde will last till December  8.  Mercury in Scorpio asks us to look at the shadow side of our thoughts. During this retrograde period we may been faced with looking at our own darkness and figuring out how to work with it so it does not impact us and we can use its energy in our favor. This month, we also have Venus moving from Capricorn to Sagittarius giving us a push to explore our independence, be more adventurous, and be flirty. Mars is moving into Scorpio tomorrow after spending time in Libra and we can feel that shift for sure. This is the time to set our intentions and go for it. Mars in Scorpio is intense and it will not stop until it gets the vision accomplished. As we move into December, we will have another planet changing signs, this time we are talking about Jupiter moving out of Sagittarius into Capricorn. The planet of expansion in the sign of limitation is not very happy but the lesson is one of learning to push through limitations and use the happy go lucky energy of Jupiter to conquer the limitations that Capricorn sets. It is a time to learn to be wise with our resources and see the limits in a different way.
Knowing that this is our astrological environment for the final stretch of this year, I invite you to contemplate the following questions:
- Are you negative about any areas in your life? What is that negative mandate supporting in your life? Is being negative an easy way out to not commit to your dreams?
- Where do you need more freedom in your life?
- What is your vision for 2020 and how can you use Mars impulse to make it happen?
- How can you feel abundant even in the face of limitations?
Take a minute, grab a piece of paper and a pen and just let yourself respond to those questions automatically. Let your Spirit talk through automatic writing. Once you are done writing, set it aside and don´t read it until December 21 (Winter Solstice). At that time, you will be ready to set up an action plan for your discoveries.
I will be teaching a couple of classes in 2020. My commitment is to have one in person class a month and one mediumship and psychic development circle. Stay tuned for dates and times. There will be no activities in December as that´s my month to vision what´s to come for 2020.
I am grateful for all of you! Thank you for being there!
Many blessings,
Carolina

New Moon in Gemini - monitor your self-talk

When I think about Gemini, I think about information, communication, sometimes gossip. I also think of the Twins and how sometimes it is unpredictable or changeable but as a mutable sign, it is flexible and easy to change in a minute.  Tomorrow, we will experience a New Moon in Gemini. For me, New Moons are about new beginnings, planting seeds, visioning what we want to manifest and setting the first steps to move as closer to the goal we have in mind.  If we combine the two, Gemini and the New Moon, the first thing that comes to my mind is working on a new way to structure information or how we receive information. Another thing that comes to mind is to take some time to explore how we communicate with others and also to ourselves.

We all experience that voice in the back of our minds that tells us how we are not achieving what we should achieve. Sometimes it tells us we are not enough. Other times it tells us we are too fat. Even it compares us to all those people who exceed expectations in the area we are focusing and fails to see the whole picture. During this New Moon, I invite you to sit down with that voice and re-write the script it tells you. Release all the negative statements and replace them with new ones. For example, when the voice says "you will never accomplish anything", you can look back in your life and see all the times you accomplished your goals and tell the voice the statement is not true and name your accomplishments.

Power comes from choosing the messages we allow our head to play. If a message takes your power away, the Universe is telling you, it's time to change the message. Try writing all the negative statements on a piece of paper and burning the paper in the cauldron so you can see them transform. Then write your new statements and place them as a screen saver on your  phone so it will remind you that you create your reality and those are your statements. You can also record the statements in your phone and play it twice a day as if they were affirmations. It took years to program the negative voice so it will take sometime to reprogram it but rest assure you have what it takes to change those mandates. Just one day at a time.

Many blessings,
Carolina

Tarot Explorations - Moon Power Spread

Do you feel a strong connection to the Moon? Do you love Tarot and Oracles? If your answer is yes to any of these two questions, continue reading as you will find a way to use Tarot cards or Oracle cards to perform a reading that is connected to the phases of the Moon. Last Tuesday, I was leading my Tarot meetup and we went over this spread with the participants. Most of them found this spread useful so I thought I would share it here so you can try it on your own. As with any recipe, feel free to modify as needed! During the meetup I used five Moon related decks, one for each position in the spread. You do not need to have five decks as one will be more than enough but having different decks for each position made it fun! If you know me, you know that I love combining different decks and oracles to create one message as I love connecting the dots and the energies each deck brings. Like an alchemist, I like bringing all the energies together to transform it in something bigger than the sum of the parts.

Going back to the Moon Power Spread, do you have your deck ready? You should use this spread when you are working on a project and you need to gather information about what you need to incorporate, what you need to let go, and gather information to get clear on your project. You can also use this spread to align yourself with the Moon and perform a small ritual during the waning moon to gather information about the next moon cycle. You may wonder why the waning moon instead of the new moon. If you are asking yourself that question, the response is simple! We need to make space to create new things so we begin at the waning moon to learn what we need to let go of to make space for our new project. You may have been holding onto many things and the time has come to drop some of those things if you are to manifest your desire. Then we will move to the New Moon to discover what are the seeds we need to plant during this lunation. Sometimes we have projects that are so big we need to divide them in pieces so you can use each lunation to work on one part of your project until you reach completion. After discovering the seeds we are tending during this month, we can move to the Waxing Moon (the Growing Moon) to discover what we need to do more of, what are the things that we need to increase to make sure we meet the deadlines in our project. Then finally, we reach the Full Moon phase. This phase is usually associated with completion or with illumination. We will use this position to provide information on those things we did not see before but now, like under a flashlight, we can see and explore.  So now, you may be wondering why did she say the spread was five cards and there are only four Moon phases. Well, let me get to that now! Before we begin with the Moon phases, we will pick one card that will be our guide for the journey. This is the card that will tells us what type of energy we need to have during this lunation to make sure we complete our project.

So, let's get technical now! Here is where the recipe part begins and remember, you can modify as needed.

Ingredients: one Tarot deck and/or one Oracle deck (or five decks and you will use one for each position)

If you are using one deck for this spread, and that deck is a Tarot deck, please separate the Major Arcana. If you are using one Oracle deck, you do not need to separate any cards from your deck.

Before you begin, clear your mind by becoming centered in your body. Take a couple of deep breaths in and out. Let go of anything that is not required for this project and begin focusing on the areas you are looking to get answers on. If you are looking for a general reading, just ask the Universe to provide you with information about what you need to focus on the next 28 days or the next lunation cycle.

Once you are ready to begin, pick up the Major Arcana cards and shuffle them until you feel complete. Then select one card and place it in the center. Once you have done that, incorporate the Major Arcana to the rest of the deck and shuffle again. This time you will focus on asking the cards to provide you insights on what you need to let go of. You will pick one card and place it on the top right corner. Then you will continue shuffling and now focus on the seeds you need to tend, what areas in your life need attention to make sure that your project gets to completion. You will pick one card and place it on the bottom right angle.  Then you will continue shuffling and you will place your attention on gathering information about what you need to do more of in order to fulfill your goal. Pick a card and place it on the bottom left. Finally, you will shuffle again and ask the cards to provide you with information on those areas you are blind-sided or that you need to focus on. Pick a card and place it on the top left. Now you have all your cards and you are ready to read them!

Card 1 (center card): This card signifies the energies you need to incorporate during this lunation. This card will be a Major Arcana if you are using Tarot cards and it will provide you with insights on where in the Hero's Journey you are located. What energies you need to use to go with the flow during this lunation and maybe what to avoid.

Card 2 (Waning Moon, top right): This card shows you what you need to let go of during this lunation in order to make space to achieve what you desire. You can not grab something new if your hands are full with other things so remember, this may not be let go of but postpone as it is not useful during this lunation.

Card 3 (New Moon, bottom right): This card signifies the seeds we need to tend. What is the nature of your new project or the part of the project you are focusing on during this lunation? What needs your attention and intention? What needs your focus?

Card 4 (Waxing Moon, bottom left): This is the card that tells us what we need to do more of or expand. What needs extra attention? It shows us where to focus our energy so we can be in the flow.

Card 5 (Full Moon, top left): This card signifies our blind spot. It shows us what areas we may have been missing because we were distracted or did not pay attention to the essential. Pay attention this card as it is key to complete your project.

If you use this spread to align with the lunation, you can interpret each card as an area you need to focus during that week. Each Moon phase is 7 days, use a card for each week of the period and the central card can be the general topic for the lunation period.

I hope you enjoy this spread! Feel free to share your comments, observations or suggestions in the blog comments. If you have questions, don't hesitate in writing to me at carolina@caroamor.com or post your questions on this blog and I will respond to them as I receive them.

Good luck in your Tarot and Divination Journey!

Many blessings,

Carolina

Fork in the Road - Power of Choice

I could have never imagined the life I am living today when I got on that plane 17 years ago. I was following my heart all the way. I met the person who is now my ex-husband and I was head over heels in love with him. So big was my love that I went to get my passport and got my ticket to fly to the USA to meet him. My family thought I was crazy but I knew in my heart it was the right thing to do. As I read this, I know it sounds like a movie and at that time I believed it was. You can only imagined what my family thought when a year after I announced I was getting married to the man I had only spent two weeks with in person in a foreign land. Yes, you guessed it! I am the different one in my family. The one who when she believes something is possible, nothing will stop her until she reaches her goal. They placed bets that he would not show up for the wedding... they were all wrong! I still remember my dad´s face when he met him for the first time - the American boy with long hair, half blonde and half black. The wedding was simple and a few months later I found myself living in USA.

The first few years were not easy. They were years full of hardship that made me humble. From an independent and self-sufficient woman, I was then a dependent woman on my husband. I did know know how to drive a car because I thought I did not need it when I lived in the big city of Buenos Aires. Having to ask to be dropped off or taken to certain places like a child was a motivator to keep growing, to keep pursuing. I was a professional in my country and in this land I was just an immigrant. I even took my husband´s name because it would sound American and I would blend in. I had to work hard for everything I have today. America is the land of opportunity. It is the land of dreams but those dreams are not free. Today, I have reclaimed my name and I am proud of being a Latina. Even though I look American with my natural blonde hair, the Latin blood runs through my veins. The passion and the drive to go for what I want is still there.

A couple of years ago, one of my cousins asked me if I still believed in love now that I am divorced. He was there when I got married and witnessed my love story so his question was understandable. My response was YES. I believe in love and I believe that many times we are faced with a fork in the road. We are faced with a decision to make and our choice will have several ripple effects that will determine who you become. If you ask me today, I would still get on that plane as I did 17 years ago because even though it was a challenging experience, I still choose that experience. I would not be who I am today without it. I choose that love, the love that moved me to leave everything behind and come to USA with just two bags (one bag was full of books!). The love that saved me from unhealthy patterns and gave me the opportunity to build myself from scratch. The love that made me stronger.

Today, as I see so many people posting 10 year challenges I realize so many things change in our lives with time. We face so many forks, we make so many choices. It is definitely not about looks or age, it´s about experience so can you identify those forks that were agents of change in your life? Would you do the same? If not, what would you do differently? There is always time for a new choice. You have that power.

Many blessings,

Carolina
